Ridiculous price increase

I use this to park and commute on my bike which saves cars in the Peak District. Ridiculous price increase.

Great value & supports the Peak District

At a time where our National Parks receive a tiny portion of the financial support they need from government, this is entirely reasonable at £78. It's as reasonable as. a National Trust, Forestry England,Wildlife Trust or RSPB membership and PDNP needs all they can get at the moment.

Annual Parking Pass Breach of contract

When buying an annual parking pass it is a contract. I expect to be able to use it and am expected to use it according the the parking byelaws. That includes being able to park in the permitted hours. In lieu of no published parking hours (either when buying it or at the carparks) the appliacable bye law is OVERNIGHT PARKING
4. No person shall, without the consent of the Authority, leave any vehicle or cause or permit any vehicle to be left on the land between the hours of 12 midnight and 6 a.m

The Car Parks are closed before 12 (half an hour after sunset) and not open until well after 6 so a as resident I can't go for a run, a climb or at Suprise View, where closure is 30 minutes after sunset, enjoy and do the very thing promoted by the Peak Park as a 'Dark Skies' viewing destination.
By altering the terms of that contract, and preventing lawful use of the car park for its intended purpose (access to and enjoyment of the public space of the national park) and accordance with the byelaws is breach of contract. Likewise if you park in the car park lawfully (with intention to leave before midnight it would be unlawful to lock the gate on you (as it would cause you to breach the byelaw).
Having doubled the parking pass fee the authority can afford to better enforce its very own byelaws...by bringing charges against unlawful use and maintaining access for lawful use. That is the actual reason the Park is given authority to write its own byelaws...not breach them.

Extortionate

No warning of the increase in price to current permit holders even though I renewed two days after the increase , extremely poor customer service, if I didnt have to deal with you I wouldn’t be 😡

Someone's surely made a blunder here...

I am aghast to learn that the cost of an annual permit has risen from the £45 we paid last year to £78 now. I organise a weekly walk somewhere in Staffs/Derbys and it was helpful to have a pass to save the faff of buying a ticket, even though we only used it occasionally (maybe five or six times in the year). It certainly didn't save us money but having one encouraged me to use a PDNP car park where available and in any event we felt it was in a good cause. Ours has just expired and we certainly can't justify renewing it, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if revenue drops markedly as a result, the exact opposite of what most price rises are intended to achieve.
